Peach 2020 Conference and Heroes & Icons Awards

Leaders of two of the market’s most innovative and influential groups - Steve Easterbrook of McDonalds UK (pictured) and John Hutson of JD Wetherspoon – headlined this year’s Peach Network 2020 conference and awards lunch on 18th November, 2009 at Bafta, London.

The two top executives gave their unique perspectives and insights into the major challenges facing the UK out-of-home market and how it will develop and prosper into the next decade.

The exclusive, invitation-only event, for senior executives from across the eating and drinking out sectors, took place on November 18 at the Bafta theatre, 195 Piccadilly.

In partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland, Coca-Cola, Coffer Group and the National Skills Academy for Hospitality

Also lined up to speak were Krispy Kreme's UK managing director Don Henshall, Mitchells & Butlers marketing director Adam Martin, international customer loyalty expert Mike Amos, of Toronto-based Empathica Inc, and Royal Bank of Scotland UK economist Ross Walker.

Mike led the discussion on the practical steps that businesses can take to exploit social networking – to build reputation, drive footfalls, grow sales and turn customers into advocates. The key is knowing how to measure and manage the process.

Other hot topics on the agenda included:
• Working out the value, quality, experience equation;
• Plugging into the consumer mind-set;
• Developing top people and teams;
• Insights into the latest food, drink, marketing and service trends and operational innovations

International research company Harris Interactive presented its latest consumer trends analysis – including a focus on the impact of restaurant, cafe and pub brands in the UK market.

The annual Peach 2020 conference is held during the morning, and was be followed by an exclusive lunch, at which we will celebrate the contribution of our sector’s most successful leaders and businesses in our annual Heroes and Icons Awards presentation.
