Previous Events: Consumers in Recession 2009
20 May 2009, London
A focused, 'off-the-record' briefing on the latest consumer trends in the UK eating and drinking-out market, and how they will shape the way restaurants and pubs are developed.
A focused, 'off-the-record' briefing on what the latest consumer trends mean to the UK eating and drinking-out market, and how they will shape the way restaurants and pubs are marketed and developed.
In partnership with Coca-Cola, with support from Ecolab, Fishbowl and Enotria
This year we focus on how the downturn is impacting consumer behaviour and expenditure:
- the emergence of new types of consumer
- the key drivers of choice, spend and loyalty
- how the out-of-home market is adapting to meet those needs
- what you need to do to survive and thrive
Our expert keynote speakers are:
- Mike Amos, founder and CEO of Empathica - leading international specialists in measuring and managing customer loyalty
- Paul Flatters, partner at Trajectory - experts in analysing and forecasting social and consumer trends
They will be joined by an industry panel of leading marketing executives from restaurant and pub groups to debate the practical "so-whats" of the current customer environment and new ways of tracking consumer habits.
Specifically, Mike Amos, who works with retail and casual dining clients in North America and the UK, will look at managing customer experience, evaluating data and linking employee engagement to customer loyalty - with survey results on current practice. Paul Flatters will reveal the results of up-to-date research on consumer decision making, buying habits and reactions to promotions in the current recession, identifying six major behaviour types and how they might be tempted with more appropriate offers and messaging. He asks the vital questions: "Are you risking future income by chasing the prudent with discounts?" and "How will these groups change in size and behaviour during the lifetime of the recession (and beyond)?".
Understanding the consumer, particularly in tougher times, remains key to staying ahead in today's marketplace.
The seminar will be attended by a select, invited audience of chief executives, marketing directors, operations directors, commercial directors and food and drink developers from companies, both large and aspiring, from across the licensed retail, restaurant and foodservice arena.
The 'off-the-record' environment will provide a perfect opportunity to debate the vital issues shaping businesses across the UK
We would be delighted if you could join us on 20 May for what promises to be another informative, productive and, we hope, inspirational event.
Places are limited. If you can accept, please RSVP to Christine Martin at Peach Network on 01704 550383 or email christine@peach-factory.com. See you on 20 May.
